Scope Intervention (Saving and Conservation of Our Planet Earth Intervention).is a Non-Governmental, Non-Profit and a Non-Political organization working to initiate and promote local environmental initiatives that contribute to the global fight against climate change. The organization’s climate change adaptation and mitigation actions contribute to greenhouse gas emission reduction while enhancing local communities’ climate change coping mechanisms. The organization is also working to promote respect on human rights and stimulate socio-economic activities that contribute to poverty reduction.
The organization was founded in 2012 by Kenfrey Katui; a young Kenyan Sociologist and an Environment enthusiast who was appalled by the rate at which human activities are contributing to global warming and environmental destruction. According to Mr. Katui, the future of our planet lies in collective actions of mankind which can either be heroic or desperado.
The organization has so far implemented several notable projects and activities in Kenya. Among them include rehabilitation of Mau Forest Complex and Menengai Forest both in Nakuru County; restoration of Torok River in Elgeyo Marakwet County; launch of fruit tree project in Baringo County; conference on climate change at Moi University and formation of Scope Climate Leadership Programme among other accomplishments.
